Stallion Springs, California

Flower Star - Stallion Springs, California
I recently moved to Stallion Springs, California, which is a beautiful little community in the Tehachapi Mountains in central California. This is a great place to be a photographer simply for the natural beauty that is all around.

Stallion Springs sits within the Cummings Valley just west of the town of Tehachapi. About 4,000' above sea level, the area is mountain prairie, with tall grass and oak trees. The soil is ideal for agriculture. There is plenty of wildlife, including deer and elk. The weather is "four seasons" and mild compared to the Mojave Desert to the east and Central Valley to the west.

The big attraction within Stallion Springs is the Woodward West sports camp. There is also an 18-hole golf course, a country church, a small library, three restaurants and a gas station. There are a few parks, lots of horse riding trails and even a covered bridge.

I love living in Stallion Springs. It's a quiet place with a ton of natural beauty at the edge of nowhere. Yet there are just enough amenities that it doesn't quite feel like it is the edge of nowhere. If you are ever in the area, be sure to visit this community.
