Abandonment: Rosamond Home And Property - Rosamond, California

A few days back I stopped by an abandoned home in Rosamond, California, in the Mojave Desert. This place is about one mile from the Rosamond homestead I photographed the week before.

The house doesn't appear to be all that old, really. It is a typical stucco home one would expect to find in the west, probably built sometime in the 1960's or 1970's. I think that it may have been abandoned around 15 years ago.

There are three other buildings on the property. One is a small bath house of some sort. The other two buildings appear to have been for work. One may have been for storage, while the other is quite large and may have been used as office and work spaces.

I just have guesses based on what I found inside, I don't know for sure about any of this. There was a note left on the inside of the home written to vandals stating that this place had belonged to his or her grandparents, and to please have respect.

I used a Sigma DP2 Merrill to capture these photographs.
