Elk are big, intimidating animals. There are several that frequent the fields near my home. They are not to be messed with! The photographer in the video above is very lucky that he was not seriously hurt.
The lesson? Be careful. Be very careful, in fact. If you think that you are safe, rethink that because you may not be. Getting "the shot" is not worth the large medical bills or worse that may come with an unsafe situation.
In the case above, perhaps the photographer should have remained inside his vehicle or placed himself a little further away. Hindsight is 20/20, so in the field, in the moment, use extra caution.
