Thought of the Day: Nikon Df

Nikon officially announced their "pure photography" camera, the full-frame Df. I've got to say that I'm really diggin' this new DSLR.

What is the Df? It is a Nikon D4 in a retro-SLR package and without video capabilities. Some of the controls are via dials on the body, reminiscent of an old SLR. The Df is a digital camera for those who enjoy film cameras.

If money was no object, I'd gladly grab this camera. However, for less money one can buy the Nikon D610 or even the Sony A7R, which might actually be better cameras. Even so, the Df looks like a fun camera that might be a bit more organic than the typical DSLR.

Nikon is releasing this camera just in time for holiday sales. Be careful not to have camera envy.
