Abandonment: Dilapidated Desert Home - Mojave, California

Dilapidated Desert Home - Mojave, California
Whoever lived in this home would have been next-door-neighbors to the person who lived in the house I shared yesterday. This place is in a larger state of disrepair, with some walls missing. There was no indoor plumbing, which is actually more common in these forgotten places than one might think.

I didn't find much to indicate who lived here. I'm guessing that it was originally built by someone who worked at one of the many local mines (most of which are now defunct). The last resident may have been a "desert rat."

Like the abandoned house next door, the place was overrun by the wind industry. It's difficult to know if it was abandoned because of the wind farm expansion or if it was already empty. I don't think anyone has lived in the house for over 20 years.

I used a Nikon D3300 DSLR with a Nikkor 40mm AF-S DX f/2.8G Micro lens to capture these photographs.
